About the role:
As a member of the production workforce the Apprentice Machinist is capable of responding to the setup, machining and de-burring of the company’s products with supervision as directed by the Workshop Manager, Team leader, and Machinists.

Your key responsibilities will also include:

- Set up, run and de-burr components in line with JFD technical drawings
- Loads material into machines
- Cuts, grinds, or drills materials in machine as needed by adjusting speed, the path of the cut, and other factors
- Oversees machinery setup to make sure arrangement is safe and ready to handle its assigned load
- Takes personal responsibility for the quality of work.
- Good housekeeping at all times.

What do you need?
Be a highly motivated self-starter capable of working independently as well as in a team. Be well organized and able to multi-task and have good verbal and written communications skills.
Keeps a focus on safety by helping others to conduct themselves appropriately around operating machinery.
Work a flexible schedule to keep up with production demand during busy production periods.
To attend Tullos training centre when scheduled by the college.

To succeed in this position, you will need relevant academic core skills, be experienced and able to use hand tools and small power tools and have basic mechanical aptitude.
