RAC are on the lookout for experienced and talented Technicians to join our well-established Technical Team based in our iconic Bescot office in Walsall. As a**Technical Engineer**, you will be a fountain of knowledge for our Patrols havingto deal with complex issues at the roadside. You’ll be monitoring breakdowns nationwide making technical decisions to get the best outcome for the customer

**You’ll know your roster 12 months in advance, so there’ll be no surprises to what you’re working Shifts are variable between 7am - 9pm across Monday - Sunday.**

**What you’ll do...**
- Increase roadside patrol repair and resolution rates through utilising expert technical advice
- Increase patrol efficiency through providing dynamic diagnostic support leading to a quicker conclusion, meaning we can provide service to more of our customers more quickly
- Help customers to resolve simple issues over the phone without the need for a patrol to attend
- Ensure our customers receive the correct service in terms of the right resource in the first instance
- Gathering and sharing technical information in the aim of keeping RAC up to date with current technology
- Upskilling colleagues in terms of technical knowledge
- Providing support to our Breakdown Centre colleagues relating to technical queries

**What you’ll need...**
- Minimum NVQ level 3 motor vehicle engineering
- Preferred master/diagnostic technician qualification
- High level of motor vehicle diagnosis and repair experience including the use and understanding of workshop diagnostic equipment
- EV (electric vehicle) experience is desirable
- Methodical diagnostic and problem solving thought process
- The ability to communicate effectively with both colleagues and customers in sometimes high pressure situations to reach a positive outcome
- Good level of computer literacy
