Our client, The Charted Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM), has an exciting opportunity for a self-starting Content Executive to work on the sector’s leading magazine and news website.

**The role**:
At CIWM, the goal of the Media and Publications team is to inform and engage with CIWM’s members, as well as the wider sector, using our client’s diverse content platforms.

Our client adds value to the membership experience by creating and procuring compelling editorial to suit the needs of the audience, as well as offering a respected and knowledgeable voice to the ever-shifting sustainability debate through the publicationsbrand, Circular and Circular Online.

The purpose of your role will be to support the Editor and Head of Media in the creating and managing of content across CIWM’s suite of platforms, from publishing daily news, moderating social media accounts to engaging with members through the member-onlyonline community group.

Every role has a part to play in delivering plans, priorities and key objectives for the Engagement Team and achieving CIWM’s purpose, mission, and annual budget.

**Key duties and responsibilities**:

- Working with the Editor and Head of Media to write and publish timely, accurate and valuable daily news to CIWM’s editorial standards.
- Liaising with press contacts and contributors to procure and publish a range of features and articles for online content platforms.
- Moderating social media platforms, helping to create engaging to content to increase awareness of CIWM, activities and CIWM membership.
- Managing and moderating member-online community platform to increase engagement and membership value.
- Supporting colleagues in maintaining copy and content across CIWM’s corporate websites.
- Working with the Editor and Head of Content to generate content ideas across CIWM’s suite of platforms.
- Supporting internal teams with the creation of newsletters, including the weekly Circular Online newsletter and weekly member newsletter.
- Maintaining an awareness of journalistic best-practice and holding this in the highest regard.

**Person specification**:

- Media/journalism qualification, training or at least 1 year’s similar experience
- Excellent writing, copy and communication skills
- A passion for content creation
- Creative thinking and attention to detail
- Impeccable editing and proofing skills
- Self-motivated and a takes a proactive approach to tasks and projects
- Strong time management and organisational skills with the ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines
- Good understanding of SEO and how to ingrain it into daily practices
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Adobe Dreamweaver/Photoshop skills are a plus.
