**Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role**:
We deliver creative, dynamic and person-centred service to 2 young men at our service within Old Edinburgh Road in Inverness. Each person we support have very different support needs and we have tailored care and support plans to meet their needs. As a team we work collaboratively to ensure the safety, wellbeing, and aspirations outcomes/goals of the people we support are met. The people we support have many varied interests and hobbies and have many of the same dreams and aspirations as we do.
As a Support Worker you will help to organise and participate in activities. The young men enjoy activities such as swimming, football, trampolining, going to the cinema, DIY, walking and keeping fit, engage in music, going to the gym, supporting to go on holidays and access the community and much more. You will support people to participate and develop a range of life skills such as:
- cooking, cleaning, managing finances, supporting with personal hygiene, scheduling & attending appointments, meal planning and shopping.
- You need to have the ability to form positive relationships with people we support, colleagues, guardians, families and other professionals. You need to have a good understanding of discrimination and health and wellbeing issues.
A flexible approach to work patterns is required. At Old Edinburgh Road Support Workers typically work 14 hours shifts from 8am until 10pm. Sleep-ins are part of the role as well as the ability to work long shifts, evenings and weekends and nightshifts as part of a rota system.
- Full-time, part-time and bank (casual) contracts available.
As a Support Worker you will support people who have learning disabilities, autism, mental health concerns or dementia with their daily routines to live the **best lives possible**.
