*Job Title*: Fire Door Fitter

*Job Summary*:
A Fire Door Fitter is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire-rated doors to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations and building codes. The role involves working in various settings, including residential, commercial, and industrial properties, and ensuring that fire doors are installed to the highest standards to provide adequate protection during a fire emergency.

*Key Responsibilities*:

- Install fire-rated doors and associated hardware (hinges, locks, seals) in accordance with manufacturer guidelines, fire safety regulations, and building codes.
- Inspect existing fire doors to ensure they meet current safety standards, including gap measurements, door closers, and intumescent seals.
- Carry out necessary repairs or adjustments on fire doors to maintain their effectiveness and functionality.
- Replace damaged or non-compliant fire doors and frames as required.
- Ensure proper alignment and functionality of the door closers and panic bars.
- Perform regular maintenance and checks to ensure ongoing compliance with fire safety standards.
- Work closely with site managers, building owners, and other contractors to plan and carry out fire door installations in coordination with building works or refurbishments.
- Maintain accurate records of work carried out, including inspections, installations, and repairs.
- Provide reports and documentation as necessary for fire safety audits or inspections.
- Keep up-to-date with relevant building codes and fire safety regulations.

*Skills and Qualifications*:

- Proven experience in carpentry or door fitting, particularly with fire doors.
- Understanding of fire safety regulations and the ability to interpret technical specifications related to fire door installations.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurements.
- Problem-solving skills to identify and address issues with door alignment, seals, or other components.
- Knowledge of various fire door types, materials, and hardware.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with clients and contractors.
- Health and safety awareness, including safe working practices on construction sites.
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in fire door installation (desirable).

*Physical Requirements*:

- Ability to lift and handle heavy doors and materials.
- Ability to work in confined spaces or at heights, as required.
- Physically fit and capable of working on construction sites.

*Work Environment*:

- The role may involve working on construction sites, residential properties, schools, hospitals, and other public buildings.
- The job may require travel to various locations and occasional out-of-hours work depending on the project schedule.

*Salary*:
Salary varies depending on experience, typically ranging from £180 to £200 per day.
