Here at Mavayah Living we provide supported living accommodation, to include emergency, short and long term, and intensive support to looked after young people aged 16-18 years old, who have experienced trauma and are identified to have emotional and behavioural difficulties. At the core of our service is to provide therapeutic support using cognitive behavioural therapy approaches. We are a new service and looking for dedicated and committed staff who want to join us and develop with our company.

**Work experience**:

- Experience of working with young people with challenging and emotional and behavioural difficulties.
- Experience of working with young people with diverse needs
- Experience of working with children and young people 16 years and over, in a care or support setting.
- 2 years or more experience of working with children and young people

**Qualification**:

- NVQ or QCF level 3 in health and social care (or equivalent e.g advice and guidance) or working towards it. This is beneficial but not essential as we provide full training and support.
- Diploma or certificate level 3 cognitive behavioural therapy or working towards it. This is beneficial but not essential as we provide full training and support.

**Responsibilities of the job**:

- To support with life skills informed choices in accordance with the young person’s support plan.
- To support with preparing for independent living e.g. cooking, budgeting, hygiene, road safety, career options.

**Additional responsibilities**
- Provide support to motivate the young people, to make and sustain positive changes, to further help them thrive and develop, as they prepare for adulthood
- Acknowledge that all young people are not the same and therefore tailor support to meet their ongoing individual needs.
- Contribute towards the protection of young people from abuse, adhering to current legislation and Mavayah Living policies and procedures.
- Value the young people and work in partnership with the young people, parents, carers and professionals.
- Aim to support the young people through therapeutic approaches, to cope with emotions and reaction to life experiences and challenges.
- Be part of a committed team who aim to support positive thinking and outlook on life, and build on self-confidence, self-reliance, growth and empowerment. In turn, help the young person make informed, age appropriate decisions, concerning their past and future.
- Provide a safe space, to safely promote the young person’s being their authentic self, and flourish as they prosper into independence and adulthood.
- Support the young people to maintain their youth, through promoting social interaction and hobbies and interest, alongside offering advice and guidance on building their independent life skills.
- Support the young person to achieve their goals, which will be discussed at each key worker session.
- To ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times (in the absence of safeguarding/welfare concerns) in keeping in with the Data Protection Act 1988.
- We believe a happy person, is more likely to produce better outcomes in life, all staff will strive for nothing less than to see every young person we support be happy and live life to their fullest potential.

**Additional Working conditions**:

- Sleeping in duties may be required for a minimum of two nights per week.
- Willing to work bank holidays and Christmas holidays if required
- Ability to lone work, and as part of a team with individual or multiple young people
- Willing to work additional hours to cover sickness and holidays
- Willing to work at other homes that are part of Mavayah living services
- **Shifts/schedule
- **9am-3pm, 3pm-9pm and 9pm-9am

**Salary**: £9.70-£11.70 per hour
