**Responsibilities**:
- Tailor personalized one-on-one support to meet the unique requirements of students with profound and multiple learning disabilities.
- Collaborate with the class teacher and PMLD specialists to devise and implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.
- Support students in daily living activities, encompassing personal care, feeding, toileting, and mobility assistance, ensuring their safety and overall well-being.
- Cultivate a positive and inclusive learning environment that actively promotes independence, communication, and social development.
- Work closely with the class teacher and interdisciplinary team to continually assess progress, dynamically adjusting instructional approaches to address individual needs.
- Facilitate the use of specialized equipment and resources, including sensory tools and communication aids.
- Forge strong connections with parents and caregivers, maintaining transparent and open channels of communication.
**Requirements**:
- Proven experience in a role involving the support of individuals with profound and multiple learning disabilities, preferably within an educational or care setting.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of various PMLD conditions and a diverse range of associated support strategies.
- Showcase exceptional communication skills, demonstrating the ability to adapt communication methods to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Exhibit genuine compassion, patience, and empathy, embodying a steadfast commitment to supporting students with complex needs.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability, acknowledging that the role may entail working with students across different age groups and abilities.
- Possess a valid enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or display a willingness to obtain one.
- Hold relevant qualifications, such as CACHE Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
