School Counsellor

The Role and Department:
We have an opportunity for a School Counsellor to join the organisation on a fixed term basis. Reporting to the Project Manager Youth in Mind, the School counsellor will be responsible for working directly with children and young people on a 1-1 basis within an education setting. You will play a key role as part of the Youth in Mind team to support our local school counselling offer. The role requires you to undertake assessments, meeting with parent’s teachers and children as well as providing 1-1 sessions within a time limited framework around low level mental health and wellbeing support.
What you will bring to Tog Mind:
- Experience of providing support services to members of the public specifically children and families
- Experience of managing a case load of clients.
- Completion of a British Association for counselling and Psychotherapy accredited counselling course at Diploma level
- Experience of supporting people with low level emotional wellbeing and mental health issues
