**What do our Intensive Engagement Officers do?**

Our holistic Personal Wellbeing services support people in the criminal justice system to develop a positive self-image and stronger, healthier relationships and interactions with family, friends and wider support networks.

Working in partnership with the Probation Service, you’ll work with a caseload of adult males in both community and custodial settings, delivering structured, one-to-one and group work sessions that are responsive to individual needs. You’ll carry out initial assessments to identify key goals and agree an action plan that will support the Service User to achieve these. This may include:

- Attendance at a group session that aims to introduce simple self-care techniques, or explores how thoughts and feelings can influence behaviour.
- Working in partnership with other agencies, such as mental health or drug-support services to inform and support treatment journeys.
- Identifying positive interests and hobbies and connecting the Service User with relevant community support networks.
- Preparing a Service User for release and advocating for them to access the support they need by accompanying them to appointments in the community.
