Help us make a difference as a Shift Supervisor based from MBT at Brookhurst Wood.

**A quick look at the role.**

The Shift Supervisor will work at the MBT at Brookhurst Wood. Reporting to the Op's Manager, they will be responsible for, ensuring health & safety and environmental compliance, whilst showing continuous improvement in productivity, plant availability andthe requirements of sub products produced in accordance with the site licences.

- Monitoring and controlling all resources within the MBT plant in terms of people and equipment to maximise operational productivities and plant availability.
- Supervising and managing the rest of the team in a way that maximises plant performance.
- Ensuring productivity and availability exceeds minimum defined standards in terms of biogas/electricity production and quality of the outputs generated during the process whilst driving best practice and continuous improvement in cost control and processingoperations.
- Control of the material which flows into and out of the process to ensure downtimes are minimised.
- Providing accurate and detailed records of all plant operations, settings and stoppages and to attribute causes to all unplanned downtime.
- Supporting the engineering function in developing a programme of planned preventative maintenance, inspection and cleaning to minimise downtime and provide records of recurrent faulting.
- Keeping abreast of changes to health & safety, environmental and employment legislation and Company policies to ensure defined standards and best practice are implemented.
- Implementing and ensuring compliance with all site licences, Company policies, processes and procedures.
- Analysing and reviewing maintenance activities, cost-control, health & safety and service KPI's, implementing necessary corrective actions in the event of variance.

**Requirements**:
**Here's what we require**:

- Computer literate (Microsoft Office, Excel, Word etc)
- Previous experience and knowledge gained in the waste sector (Desirable)
- Previous management/supervisor experience of working with large teams predominantly in Production/Manufacturing environments
- Excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to deal with individuals at all levels (both within the organisation and outside)
- IT literate - comfortable using business software and systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to self-manage workload and work to strict deadlines
- Excellent written communication skills and numeracy skills
- Minimum GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths, however A-Levels or a Degree certainly won't do any harm
