Oxford Nanopore's sequencing platform is the only technology that offers real-time analysis, in fully scalable formats from pocket to population scale, that can analyse native DNA or RNA and sequence any length of fragment to achieve short to ultra-long readlengths. Our goal is to enable the analysis of any living thing, by anyone, anywhere We are looking for a **Sales Director, EMEA Central** and they will have management responsibility for a team of field-based sales professionals working to deliver sub-regional goals and country-level sales plans as defined by the VP, EMEA Sales.The EMEA North sales team will be further supported by the Inside Sales, Tenders, Customer Service, and Technical Support teams within the EMEA Central region. This role will produce sales reports and updates regarding performance and progress in their respectiveregion(s) for the VP Sales EMEA, to ensure alignment of activities with MarComms, Technical Marketing, Applications and Market Development teams are aligned with the sales activities to meet and exceed commercial expectations. To achieve these goals, thisrole will be required to undertake at least 50% travel and be based within the Region. It is expected that the Sales Director will visit our UK office each quarter as a minimum (travel restrictions permitting). - Planning of commercial activity to implement the strategic business plan and sales plans as defined by the VP, EMEA Sales to redefine the existing NGS market within the EMEA Central region. - Device and consumable sales forecasting - Drafting reports to the VP, EMEA Sales on progress against the strategic business plan and sales plans - Lead and motivate the sales teams to drive sales growth according to the targets set - Build cross functional EMEA Central-regional and country-specific pods with other commercial leaders to ensure customer centric focus in delivering to targets - Work with the Technical Marketing, Applications, Government Affairs and Market Development functions to identify new market trends within the EMEA Central region - Delivering to the agreed commercial targets for the direct sales of all Oxford Nanopore platforms - Ensure the team adhere to standard methodologies for tracking, recording and documenting relevant commercial intelligence from all customer interactions - Build relationships with Key Opinion Leader customers and across broad fields of research interest Develop strong internal relationships with executive teams, delivering key requirements and outcomes when required **Qualifications**: BSc degree (preferably in the Lifesciences) Desirable experience >5 years track record as a Sales leader in genomics or equivalent field Experience and expertise in establishing delivery against local sales plans in markets within the EMEA North region Successful leadership/remote team management experience Experience selling complex products/services utilising a "consultative sales" approach Lead with customer focused leadership Knowledge Knowledge of the Genomics / Life Sciences field Commercial acumen, and deep understanding of the sales process, driving discipline in sales cycle across team We offer outstanding benefits to include an attractive bonus, generous pension contributions, private healthcare and an excellent starting salary.
