Relief Weighbridge Operator

G D Harries is a leading aggregates company based in West Wales, offering an exceptional service within the construction industry. Founded in 1977 by Gerald D Harries, the company has grown exponentially, and now commands operations at twelve sites across West Wales at our quarries, concrete and tarmac plants. In 2020, the company underwent a change of ownership, and now sits within the family of firms at Sigma-Roc Ltd, still proudly operating as G D Harries and Sons Ltd.

Servicing the locality and wider community, we provide materials for construction and highway maintenance, as well as aggregates for domestic customers, and a strong arm of civil engineering.

Main duties include:

- Producing accurate weigh bridge tickets/sales orders for all loads entering and leaving the site
- Accurately identify the customer account and material, ensuring all aspects of the order are documented correctly
- Ensure all drivers and visitors attending site through the weigh bridge adhere to the appropriate PPE wear regulations
- Refuse to accept/issue material when a customer’s account is on credit stop
- Notify the driver when the vehicle is overweight
- Maintain a high standard of your working environment and keep areas clean, tidy and hazard free at all times
- Deal with daily tasks responsibly and professionally, and liaise with site management on a regular basis

Skills / experience required:

- Be able to follow instruction and work as part of a team
- Have a good attitude towards health and safety and company rules
- Be willing to be flexible with hours to meet our business needs.
- Hold excellent demonstrable customer service and communications skills
- Be time efficient, and able to work unsupervised
- Experience of using an ERP system would be desirable but not essential as training will be provided
