**Senior Mechanical Building Services Engineer***
**Salary**: Up to £49,000 per year dependant on experience.
**Location**: Hybrid with home working and some days in our Kendal or Cockermouth offices. Some travel required to visit sites across the North of England
**Contract**: Established, full time (40 hours per week)

Now due to our continued expansion, we now have a new opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Building Services Engineer to bring their experience, professionalism and enthusiasm to the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering team that work within our successful multi-discipline workforce of Architects, Engineers and Surveyors collaborating on a variety of projects across different sectors, including industrial, commercial and education.
You will be responsible for providing a variety of services including those relating to building pathology, design, project management, building surveys and contract administration as well as producing early design advice through to detailed electrical services design.
Your previous experience in Mechanical Services Engineering will have given you the ability to manage a busy and varied project workload, appreciate complex situations and communicate clearly when working closely with other disciplines to deliver engineering solutions to meet client’s budgets and programmes.
This position will involve visiting sites to attend meetings, carry out inspections and surveys across current and planned projects in Cumbria and Lancashire so you must be able to make your way independently to these sites.
You will be able to advise on Health and Safety issues, fire safety and sustainability throughout the design and construction period of projects, taking into account the Construction Design and Management Regulations. As someone who is proactive, you will look for new challenges and be committed to maintaining an annual programme of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
As Senior Mechanical Engineer you will be at the heart of Align Property Partners as we continue to grow. With a strong order book and great variety of work, you will be part of and help support a very busy and professional team who have a record of consistently meeting and exceeding their targets and whose passion and determination leads them to continually improve the service they provide.
To be successful in this position, you will be able to demonstrate the following essential skills and qualifications:
- You will have a Degree or HNC in Building Services/Mechanical Engineering and ideally working towards MCIBSE.
- Production of Mechanical Building Services design calculations using a wide range of techniques including industry standard software such as Hevacomp and IES.
- Producing feasibility reports, condition surveys, design specifications and drawings suitable for all RIBA work stages.
- Overseeing and supervising the installation of building services systems, undertaking commissioning management and specifying maintenance and operating procedures.
- Carry out project design and complete H&S risk assessments to meet current CDM regulation requirements.
**Technical Skills and Ability**:
- The preparation of mechanical surveys and condition survey reports.
- Investigation and analysis of services defects to develop solutions to system failures.
- The preparation of feasibility studies.
- Preparation of decarbonisation/sustainability reports.
- Ability to produce plans, sections and detailed drawings, specifications, schedules of works and other documents to high standards in conjunction with internal and external design disciplines.
- Proficiency with the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, Autodesk AutoCAD and NBS software. Knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts.
