**TEACHING ASSISTANT**

Location: Halifax

Schedule: Monday - Friday

**Salary**: £70 - £85 per day

Leader Education is currently recruiting for a number of 1-2-1 Teaching Assistants for a SEMH and SEND specialist school in Halifax.

**The job**:

- Providing support to students with SEMH and additional SEND needs in a 1-2-1 classroom setting
- Working in close partnership with SENCO and the designated safeguarding lead to promote positive outcomes and academic progression
- Working in close partnership with the therapy and communication team
- Forming strong relationships with children and young people, and their families, which influence them to regulate their behaviour and emotions
- Helping students in achieving the objectives set out in their Positive Behaviour Support Plan (EHCP), by adopting a positive behaviour support approach
- Ensuring the best quality of education and support for each student.

**You**:

- Have previous experience in working with children with SEMH/SEND needs
- Will be patient, nurturing, resilient and empathetic to students’ individual needs
- Have the ability to build positive, trusting relationships with the child/children that you work with
- Have a passion for teaching and learning with the ability to make learning enjoyable and fun
- Are a motivated and enthusiastic person with great communication skills
- Will ideally be Team Teach trained but not essential - free training is available
- Able to work effectively as part of a team but can also work independently using their own initiative.
