Sterile Services Porter

The porter will work as part of the perioperative team providing support in the efficient and safe management of patient care. Contribute to the development of the peri -operative care environment with a positive, professional attitude. Transport clean and contaminated instrumentation to and from the perioperative departments. Assist and support Floor Manager Contribute to the maintenance of daily provision of service and care to meet the individual needs of patients and Department
- To provide an efficient and effective Portering service ensuring that patients are moved to, from and around the clinical areas safely, comfortably and with dignity, by means of wheelchair, bed trolley or ambulance as required Liaising with ward/ITU staff to arrange for specific arrangements as necessary, and assisting ward/theatre/ITU staff in transferring patients from their beds to trolley in readiness for theatre.
Maintain the hygiene standards in keeping with the Trust Policies for Infection Control.
Responsible for ensuring that all trolleys are cleaned between
Transfer contaminated trays and sterile trays.
Collect medical supplies from Main Stores.
Collect contaminated instruments from, Main Theatres, ADSU,Bevan, Labour Ward, ITU, Vanguard and other departments within the hospital
