As a member of the grounds and woodland team, you will undertake a diverse range of responsibilities to ensure the charity’s memorial forests are accessible, well-maintained, and flourishing ecosystems. Your role will focus on balancing the needs of both visitors and the environment.

Key responsibilities include:
**Landscape Maintenance**: Carry out seasonal tasks such as grass cutting, meadow management, tree pruning, and felling to maintain the grounds.

**Memorial Tree Dedications**: Assist families during tree dedication ceremonies, providing guidance and support.

**Planting and Conservation**: Plant trees and manage woodland areas to align with the charity's goals and promote environmental sustainability.

**Public Engagement**: Interact with visitors, explaining the charity's mission, and offering assistance when needed.

**Health and Safety**: Ensure all tasks are performed in accordance with health and safety regulations and best practices.

**Equipment Management**: Operate and maintain groundskeeping tools and machinery efficiently and safely.

**Collaborative Projects**: Partner with volunteers and families during planting events and community initiatives to foster engagement and community spirit.

Please note that this role can be labour intensive due to the practical nature of the duties.

Experience and knowledge of working on land-based activities, managing woodland or previous experience in a related field, and experience with tree planting, pruning, and general landscape maintenance are desirable.**

Be prepared to work flexible hours, including regular weekends and occasional evenings for special events, typically on a 5 out of 7 days schedule.

Pay: £26,208.00 per year
