Full-Time

The National Space Centre is looking to recruit a Junior Graphic Designer.
You should have working proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). BA Hons in Graphic Design or equivalent is required. A keen eye for layout, typography and colour, with pixel-perfect attention to detail plus the ability to adapt and adhere to an existing style and incorporate an illustrative approach to your design are essential.

Salary circa £19,000 - £23,000 depending upon skills and experience.
Full-Time - 35 hours per week, normally Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. Some flexibility may be required. Time off in lieu will be granted accordingly.

Job Description*

Job Title - Junior Graphic Designer

Reports to - Head of Marketing

Overall Purpose - To work with the Lead Designer to provide graphic design services to various departments within the National Space Centre.

Main Tasks
- To work with the Lead Designer on a full schedule of design needs for the National Space Centre’s teams.
- Respond to design briefs provided by internal departments.
- Produce final design solutions
- Pitch creative ideas
- Collaborate with team members to launch projects
- Use feedback from other team members to improve
- Follow pre-existing styles to produce results consistent with an established brand.
- Exercise creativity to originate new styles and brands.
- Undertake in-house and external training as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned by senior management.
Hours - 35 hours per week. Usually Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

Person Specification
- Working proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign is essential.
- BA Hons in Graphic Design or other Visual Communication-related degree, or equivalent is required.
- A keen eye for layout, typography, and colour, with pixel-perfect attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt and adhere to an existing style and incorporate an illustrative approach to your design.
- Strong organisation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage and execute multiple projects.
- Demonstrate high-level communication, written, visual, and spoken skills.
- A positive and self-motivated personality.
- The ability to consistently work to given priorities and deadlines and gain satisfaction from completing tasks.
- Experience with After Effects, Premiere Pro, and XD is desirable.
- Experience with animation, film, or photography is desirable.
- Knowledge of content management systems is desirable.
- Experience working with external print suppliers is desirable.

Remuneration - £19,000-£23,000 dependant upon experience.
