Yard Foreman/woman

**Overview**

**Responsibilities**
- Accepting deliveries into the yard, offloading and checking the goods against the deliver note, ensuring any shortages are documented. Passing the relevant paperwork through to the purchasing team to process.
- Correct storage of materials and correct stock rotation to minimise waste
- Carry out stock takes for materials on a weekly basis
- Ensure that the yard is kept tidy at all times and carry out general maintenance repairs
- Responsible for the booking in and out of both company owned and hire vehicles, reporting any damage in a timely manner
- Ongoing assessment of the company fleet of vehicles through regular vehicle checks and servicing to minimise the vehicle downtime and reduce costs associated with repairs
- Responsible for the booking in & out of the company owned fleet of plant & tools
- Carry out inspections on company owned plant, carry out small repairs as required and notifying the purchasing team of any damages or repairs that may need to be carried out by external suppliers

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Strong understanding of supply chain principles and warehouse management systems.
- Proficient in operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment; relevant certifications are preferred.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong IT skills for documenting and managing Vans, skips etc.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with team members, management, and external partners.
