**Purpose of the **Role**
As a security Officer at Rivergate Shopping Centre you will play an integral role in ensuring that consistently high standards of security, safety and customer service are delivered at all times to visitors, colleagues, retailers and visiting contractors. You will assist with the smooth running of the shopping centre and assist in any emergency which may occur. This involves providing visible security cover to the centre, handling enquiries and customer concerns, monitoring CCTV (where appropriate by suitably trained and licensed staff) and controlling contractors and deliveries to the site.
**Key Responsibilities**
To work the hours and shifts in accordance with conditions of employment.
To undertake regular patrols of the Centre as instructed by the Centre Management
To carry out duties in accordance with site specific rules.
1. To comply fully with the Health & Safety Policy for the centre.
2. To ensure that the requirements of the Fire regulations are strictly complied with.
3. To ensure that the Rules & Regulations of the Centre are complied with at all times
4. Ensure that all incidents are recorded in Incident log.
5. Ensure that contractors arriving on site adhere fully to the centre procedures for contractor management.
6. Ensure that the centre is a safe and pleasant environment for all visitors/customers.
7. To assist with enquiries from the public if so required
8. To be aware of and abide by all rules, terms and conditions of the company.
9. To maintain a visible presence.
10. To assist the tenants with any reasonable request.
11. To monitor both centre and link radios.
12. To monitor C.C.T.V. and liaise with shops and police if required.
13. To answer the telephone if designated member of Management team is not available.
14. Must be able to work alone or as part of a team.
15. Must show flexibility towards other on site duties.
16. Must show flexibility towards additional hours when required.
**Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Experience in the provision of security services in a busy environment visited by members of the public.
- In order to comply with the Security Industry Act 2001, officers must hold a valid SIA Security Licence and where necessary a Public Space Surveillance Licence.
- Ability to demonstrate good levels of customer service at all times.
- Ability to work on own initiative and deal with demanding situations.
- Honest and reliable work ethic.
- Willingness to partake in on-site training for emergency procedures.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willingness to adopt a flexible approach to work patterns and work weekends/evenings as part of normal shift patterns.
- Willingness to undertake additional training and career development.
- Willingness to work alone or as part of a team.
- Well presented.
- Accurate record keeping with good attention to detail.
- Flexibility towards other on-site duties.
