Sen Teaching Assistant

**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide **individualised support** to students with SEN, including those with autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and other learning needs.
- Work closely with the **class teacher and SENCO** to deliver tailored interventions and support strategies.
- Foster a **positive and inclusive learning environment**, encouraging student engagement and confidence.
- Assist with the development and implementation of **Individual Education Plans (IEPs)** and **behavioural strategies**.
- Support students in both **academic and social development**, helping them to build essential life skills.
- Adapt learning materials to meet the needs of individual students and facilitate their understanding.
- Provide **pastoral care** and emotional support, ensuring students feel safe and valued.
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers, parents, and relevant professionals.
**Requirements**:
- **Previous experience** working with children or young adults with SEN in a school or similar setting is **essential**.
- A **relevant qualification** in education, childcare, or SEN support (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is desirable but not essential.
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting children with diverse needs.
- Strong **communication and teamwork skills** to work effectively with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
- A commitment to promoting **inclusion, equality, and the well-being** of all students.
- Knowledge of **safeguarding procedures** and a willingness to undergo relevant training.

In accordance with the safeguarding vulnerable groups’ regime [2006] & the relevant Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE) DfE guidance, **any offer of employment made will be conditional upon the results of checks from the Disclosure & Barring Service** (“the DBS”) and Teacher Services (regarding teacher prohibition/disqualification from working with children and young people).

Pay: £13.68-£14.60 per hour
Expected hours: 6.5 - 32.5 per week
