Family Support Worker

We are looking to recruit a Family Support Worker at the Caban Bach Service, Barnardo's Cymru North Wales Locality predominantly working in the Meirionnydd area of Gwynedd.

What is the Caban Bach Family Support Service?

Caban Bach Family Support Service is a comprehensive Family Support Team working with Team Around the Family in collaboration with Arfon and Gwynedd teams. We provide evidenced based family support to parents, families with children and young people between ages 5 to 25 years - within the home, school, community and Caban Bach Barnardo's.

What does the Job Role involve?

The family support Worker provides advice, support and services to children, young people and their families in accordance with the aims and objectives of the service. You will do this by:

- Working with children, young people and their families, on a one to one or group basis, using a variety of interventions, to identify needs and to achieve positive outcomes.
- Working in partnership with parents/carers to empower them and to enable them to achieve better outcomes for their children.
- Working co-operatively with children's services, health agencies and other community based services, to provide the most effective service for children young people and families.
- Contribute to Service development.

What are we looking for?

You will have: (Essential Criteria)
- The ability to communicate in Welsh and English (due to meeting the requirements of the Welsh Language Measure and ensuring the we meet the linguistic needs within Gwynedd it is essential that you're able to provide a bilingual service).
- Awareness of factors impacting on and issues facing vulnerable children and young people and families (e.g. disadvantage, poverty, disability).
- Awareness of children's need to feel safe.
- Some experience of work with children and young people but this does not have to have been gained in a formal employment setting.
- Able to listen to and communicate effectively with children and young people.
- Able to work as part of a team.
- Able to accurately and clearly record case notes deploying the necessary standard of writing and IT skills.

Mae Gwasanaeth Cymorth i Deuluoedd Caban Bach yn Dîm Cymorth i Deuluoedd Cynhwysfawr sy'n gweithio gyda'r Tîm o Amgylch y Teulu ar y cyd â thimau Arfon a Gwynedd. Rydym yn cynnig cymorth sy'n seiliedig ar dystiolaeth i rieni, teuluoedd â phlant a phobl ifanc rhwng 5 a 25 oed - yn y cartref, yr ysgol, y gymuned ac yng Nghaban Bach Barnardo's.

Beth yw Gofynion y Swydd?

Mae'r Gweithiwr Cymorth i Deuluoedd yn darparu cyngor, cefnogaeth a gwasanaethau i blant, pobl ifanc a'u teuluoedd yn unol â nodau ac amcanion y gwasanaeth. Byddwch chi'n gwneud hyn trwy'r canlynol:

- Gweithio gyda phlant, pobl ifanc a'u teuluoedd, ar sail un-i-un neu mewn grŵp, gan ddefnyddio amrywiaeth o ymyriadau, i ganfod anghenion ac i sicrhau canlyniadau cadarnhaol.
- Gweithio mewn partneriaeth â rhieni/gofalwyr er mwyn eu grymuso a'u galluogi i sicrhau canlyniadau gwell i'w plant.
