**A pupil referral unit is Lewisham is looking for a dedicated Learning support Mentor to join their school on a full-time basis ASAP.

The Role**:**In this role you will be working as part of a team to promote the learning and welfare of students by providing practical and learning support to students, including those with special needs. Students will range from 11 - 16 years old. You will be supporting in lessons and providing 1:1 and 1:2 sessions around emotional and personal development as well as academic sessions. At KS3, the majority of students are prepared for return to mainstream education; as such they follow National Curriculum modelled lessons. This ensures that they successfully reintegrate into mainstream school. At KS4, students have the potential to go on to further education, apprenticeship or employment with 5-7 GCSE’s or equivalent. They will also be equipped with the life skills required to make a positive impact in society.
**The school are ideally looking for learning support mentors who have experience supporting young people with social, emotional and behavioural needs either in a school or community environment.
**This role is offered on a full-time basis until the end of the academic year.

The school**:**This 11-16 Alternative Provision is based in South East London and easily accessible by public transport. The school currently has around 60 students who have excluded from mainstream education. Students join the school throughout the academic year and are referred for a number of reasons ranging from behaviour, to specific educational needs that cannot always be met in a mainstream setting. The leadership and staff team are committed to giving all students the opportunity to excel academically as well as the chance to build positive relationships with their peers and adults, and to make positive contributions as independent and confident learners. The main aim is to equip students for reintegration, Further Education or employment. There is an established leadership team in place and good opportunities for career development within the school.
