Cyber Security Analyst

The client, a growing software technology business with lots of opportunity to develop a career and based in central Manchester are seeking 'a Cyber Security Analyst’ to work on customer projects at this exciting time of growth.

THE ROLE

In your role as IT Security Analyst, you’ll be responsible for assisting the Infrastructure team in monitoring the company’s network and devices for malicious and anomalous activity. A core focus of the role is to enable and improve the security of our corporateand client networks across multiple hosting environments, that will become consolidated.

To be considered you will be able to evidence that you understand the importance of Networking, Cyber Security and Risk Methodology. You need to be a proactive and motivated individual who is passionate about security, has strong technical skills and backgroundin infrastructure, development or similar role, a can-do attitude, inquisitive nature and a desire to proactively improve our security posture. You will be happy to investigate and implement solutions, as well as investigating and resolving threats.

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Day to day monitoring and administration of security controls around tooling solutions and Cloud based systems.
- Work closely with other members of the Infrastructure and Compliance Teams to support various projects across the organisation.
- Assist in delivering security reviews and management metrics to ensure the integrity, confidentiality and availability.
- To perform regular information security risk assessments and implement solutions to mitigate any findings.
- To review current cyber security policies and procedures, and contribute to the further development of these.
- To have a prominent role during internal and external audits and assessments, presenting responses in a clear and concise manner.
- Review and develop DR plans, backup, and logging approaches.
- Manage external and internal penetration testing and security scanning.
- Routinely monitor and review AV, user reports, access, and activity logs.
- Helping to promote information security awareness throughout the organisation.

EXPERIENCE & QUALITIES
- A confident and well-presented individual.
- An understanding of ISO management systems including; ISO27001, ISO9001, ISO22301 and Cyber Essentials.
- Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Flexible and adaptable in regards to learning and understanding new technologies.
- Be able to provide advice and guidance to stakeholders as well as work with other departments.
- A good working knowledge of networking security processes, including perimeter and platform.
- protection, and infrastructure security processes within hybrid and private Cloud environments.
- Knowledge of Risk Management best practices.
- Willingness to learn new skills and knowledge.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, organisation and initiative.
- Good experience with some of the following; Cisco, Virtual environments, Linux, Virtual Private Cloud, AWS cloud practitioner.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- An individual with a genuine passion for cyber security and IT as a whole.
- Educated to Degree level in Cyber Security, Computer Science or relevant course.
- Knowledge of Security compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO27001, SOC, etc.)
