Our Kitchen Assistant will help in the daily preparation of cooked nutritious meals for our resident’s ensuring food is of a high quality.

**The Role**:
Ty Aberdafen has 24 beds and 18 of those have en-suite rooms in the main centre. The Centre also contains two independent living flats and four fully furnished self-contained apartments. The Centre forms a part of the UK-Wide network of services provided by national charity the Brian Injury Rehabilitation Trust.

As a Kitchen Assistant at Ty Aberdafen you may be required to deputise in the absence of the Chef, to assist in the planning and preparation of a varied choice of menus, ensuring our residents get a balanced and nutritional diet.

**Main duties will include**:

- Assisting in the planning and preparation a varied choice of menus, ensuring properly balanced and nutritious meals are provided, considering any special dietary requirements and service user preferences
- Following any dietary or food preparation guidelines as provided in service user care plans and guidance by health care professionals
- Assisting in ensuring that the storage, preparation, and cooking of all food is carried out using the highest standards of hygiene
- Assisting the Chef in maintaining appropriate levels of stock and may be required to place orders of food when required
- Ensuring high standards of food management within current Food Hygiene regulations, policies, and procedures.

**About you**:

- Communicate effectively at all levels in verbal and written forms
- Experience of working in a kitchen environment
- Knowledge of COSHH requirements
