**SEN Teaching Assistant - LSA - ASD - SEMH - Permanent - Farnham**
**The School**:
The school has a brand new state of the art conversion with fit-for-purpose facilities that meet the individual needs of the pupils. With that in mind, it's a really exciting time to join. The school has close links with other schools in the community andit forms part of a larger groups of specialist school settings.
Due to the age of the students there is a key focus on developing life skills that the students will need once they have completed their education at post 16.
**Purpose of the role**:
You will be required to provide support to the children with their learning and care whilst in school and other settings. The successful applicant will offer a tailored approach to individual children, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to reachtheir full potential in a caring and safe environment.
**Hours and salary**:
- 36 hours per week, term time only, 8.30am-4.00pm, flexibility within these hours is essential and you are required to work till 5pm one day a week for staff training and meetings.
- The school can offer temp-to-perm options. The daily rate of pay is £70-£80.
**Responsibilities**:
- To establish a warm, caring and supportive relationship with pupils in order to support them feeling safe and enabling them to enjoy and learn.
- To promote and encourage independence and personal development in pupils and maintain high expectations of behaviour.
- Support the Class Teacher in all areas of the day to day running of the class
- To respond to the varying and changing needs of the school and adapt to any task presented to achieve the smooth running of the school. Some physical intervention may be needed upon occasion, full training on this will be provided.
- To promote pupils' cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development and spiritual well-being.
- Post graduate qualification in psychology or criminology is desirable but not essential
- Level 2 - 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (desirable but not essential)
- Level 2 (GCSE) in Maths and English - essential
- Experience of working in a special school environment is desirable.
