Our story can be traced back to the box-making business started by the Smith Family in East London in the 1940s. During the next half a century we grew our reputation for quality engineering and a dedication to our customers. As we grew our scale, we grew our capabilities - adding papermaking and recycling so we could view our customers’ challenges in the whole and not just one part. In recent times, our business has experienced rapid growth, as well as acquiring businesses across Europe and in North America. We are now recruiting for a Team Leader to join us on a permanent term. Reporting to the Shift Manager this role will ensure that we achieve our business goals across DS Smith packaging.

People responsibilities:

- Responsible for Health & Safety and housekeeping
- Identify training needs within team
- Support and advise on Absence and Discipline management
- Conduct return to work interviews
- Promote team involvement in continuous improvement initiatives

Hours of work:

- Shifts pattern is a 3 shift rotation pattern of dayshift, backshift and nightshift.

Experience and Key Attributes required:

- Experience of working in a production/machine operating environment
- Self-motivated with a can-do attitude
- Enthusiasm to join our expanding team
- The drive to rise to challenges and good problem solving abilities
- The desire to progress within a Company that values its employees and puts safety first
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Experience: 1 year (preferred)
