Millbrook Healthcare’s award winning Home Improvement Agency services are dedicated to making suitable, fit-for-purpose adaptations to clients homes, enabling them to live more comfortably and independently.
We have an excellent opportunity for a **Handyperson/Multi Trader** to join the team at our Surrey Home Improvement Agency based from Reigate. You will carry out various general handyman jobs and adaptations to the homes of our clients, as well as safe & secure grant works on a semi self-sufficient basis including, site surveys, estimates and arranging of materials.
**Responsibilities**:
- Carry out both minor and major adaptations/works such as, fitting of internal and external grabrails, galvanised handrails & banister rails, construction of small/medium access ramps, replacing sinks, basins & bath taps, small brickwork repairs and/or repointing, general repairs/maintenance including basic carpentry (doors/bannister etc.), trace and repair leaks, external repairs to pathways, fencing, gates and other security/safety issues
- Liaise with clients to discuss and advise on works required and arrange quotations where requested
- Ensure all works are completed promptly with minimum disturbance for clients
- Undertake works with a degree of self-sufficiency, locating and purchasing materials as required from account suppliers (with the use of a company credit card)
- Coordinate with administration colleagues to ensure that all appointments made on your behalf are manageable in terms of projected job durations and skills required
- Maintain the company van and tools provided
**What are we looking for?**
- General building experience & experience in plumbing, carpentry and concrete installations is ideal
- Previous experience of providing maintenance and/or minor adaptation works
- Knowledge of building regulations and safe systems of work
- Confident in carrying out minor building or tradesperson installation works independently
- A basic understanding of other trades
- Good organisational and time keeping skills
- Previous experience of driving vans and working with members of the public
- Excellent communication skills are required to interact with internal staff, prescribers and clients
- Full UK Driving Licence (3 years min)
