Job Title: Live-In Caregiver (Self Employed) We are looking for a dedicated, responsible and caring person to take care of our elderly parents, part-time, on a live-in basis. We can offer a separate bedroom with TV and WIFI together with a food allowance. The bungalow is situated in a large, beautiful, secluded garden on the edge of the New Forest in Totton. Totton town centre is a 15 minute walk away and Southampton city centre 30 minutes by bus or car. We would like someone who lives within a 1 hour travel radius of Totton, Southampton. Our father has moderate Alzheimer's, though fortunately he remains with an adorable nature. Unfortunately, earlier this year, his situation deteriorated and he is now bed bound and needs support with feeding and pad changes. Our mother is mobile with a walking frame and has short term memory loss that can create some difficulties with her behaviour at times. She is very engaging and likes to have conversations to learn about others. She is suffering from depression as a result of her husband's decline and we have mental health nurse support to improve this. The successful applicant will have highly effective patience, understanding and influencing skills to help with improving her well-being such as activities and taking her outside for fresh air. **Your Roles and Responsibilities** - Providing personal care duties (mainly our father) - Periodically hoisting our father to a specialist chair to join our Mum - Administering medication - Household chores and basic maintenance - Meal preparation - Shopping - Offering our Mum companionship and encouraging her to leave the home for short walks and fresh air **Care Arrangement** The care hours and arrangement can be discussed as you will be working with a colleague in a team. In addition you will have a minimum of 2 hrs per day of uninterrupted rest time on your "work days". **Benefits** Daily gross rate of >£130.
