**_Position MAINTENANCE _**

**_Responsible to THE MANAGER_**

**Job Summary**

Ensuring that the maintenance of all areas in the care homes and properties are carried out to a high standard which compiles with the requirements laid down by the Environmental Health Department and the Inspection Unit.

Ensure confidentiality is adhered to at all times.

**General Duties**

All maintenance of the home both internal and external which does not require certification. General tasks required by the Manager and/or Proprietor.
- General maintenance of all areas
- Maintenance of garden and patio areas
- Cutting of grass and general tidy of communal sitting areas, including potting and shrubs.
- Cleaning of windows
- Cleaning of extractor fans and filter
- Removal, cleaning and refitting of radiator guards
- General decorating
- Ensuring external bin areas are kept clean and tidy
- Cleaning of carpets
- Installation of shelves, towel and hand rails and general fixtures & fittings
- Completing home checks
- Completing fire checks
- Completing water checks
- Attending training, including Legionella training
**This job description is intended to give a broad outline to the function and responsibilities of the Maintenance role. W**e reserve the right to vary or amend the duties and responsibilities of the post holder at any time according to the needs of the business.**

Maintenance staff may be required to work on call from time to time, this will be covered in your contract with additional payment documented.

Maintenance staff will be required to use their own transport but they must ensure they have their own business insurance in place.

To fully protect staff and service users in our care home group from the risks associated with the coronavirus pandemic our Care Homes will comply fully with the Covid-19 vaccination programme for the UK. Any newly recruited Employee will be asked to have the COVID-19 vaccine, refusal to comply will result in no employment process taking place.
