**Highway Enforcement Officer**

**Responsibilities**:

- **Responding to Fix My Street Enquiries**:

- Identify reported issues such as encroachments onto highway land or overgrown shrubbery.
- Conduct site visits to assess the nature and extent of reported problems.
- Write to landowners requesting resolution of identified issues.
- Issue enforcement notices if required to ensure compliance.
- **Processing and Issuing of Licences**:

- Provide assistance in processing Section 50 licences for highway excavations.
- Assist in issuing Section 184 licences for vehicular accesses and other highway licences as per legislation.
- **Financial Control**:

- Assist in controlling finances by issuing invoices for services provided.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness in invoice generation and processing.
- **Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs)**:

- Assist in issuing Temporary TROs for highway works.
- Review requested duration and working hours, recommending suitable timings such as overnight or off-peak.
- Determine appropriate diversion routes where necessary.

**Requirements**:

- **Education**: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or related field preferred.
- **Experience**: Previous experience in highway management, enforcement, or related field preferred.
- **Knowledge**: Understanding of relevant legislation and regulations pertaining to highways and land management.
- **Communication**: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for correspondence with landowners and stakeholders.
- **Organizational Skills**: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and handle multiple responsibilities concurrently.
- **Technical Skills**: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with relevant software for processing licences and issuing invoices.
- **Teamwork**: Capable of collaborating with internal teams and external contractors to achieve common goals.
- **Problem-Solving**: Aptitude for identifying and resolving issues related to highway maintenance and land management.

**Working Conditions**:

- **Location**: Primarily office-based with frequent site visits and occasional virtual meetings.
- **Schedule**: Full-time position, standard office hours with flexibility required for site visits and occasional evening meetings.
- **Travel**: Regular travel within the designated area to conduct site inspections and meetings with stakeholders.
