**Role Purpose: why the role exists and its overall contribution to the organisation**

To assist Production Management team to ensure department is run efficiently and effectively.

**Role Accountabilities: main areas for achieving delivery and results**

Assist the Production Supervisor in the smooth running of production in a safe and efficient manner ensuring full compliance of Health and Safety regulations.

Actively promote that EVERYONE has a responsibility to ensure our work environment is a safe one.

Ensure that the company quality standards are met at all times.

Assist the Production Supervisor in the cross training of all staff to cover all areas of production so there is always good cover during periods of holidays and sickness.

Assist the Production Supervisor in making sure that all staff are aware of their duties for the day and they know how to carry out each task properly and that they have the correct tools/equipment/material available to them.

Ensure that all staff have the correct production documentation for each job such as drawings and the relevant production control sheets for the job they will be carrying out.

Assist the Production Supervisor in keeping production on schedule to the weekly production plan issued by the Production Supervisor. Report/discuss any issues to the Production Supervisor promptly.

Assist the Production Supervisor in organising the factory prior to the start of a job and ensuring good working practices and efficient ways of working are maintained at all times.

Mentor new people and/or agency staff to help them become an effective and valued part of the team.

Ensure that the production area is kept as clean and tidy and good housekeeping is maintained.

Ensure that all daily, weekly and monthly safety checks are carried out and the relevant documents are given to the Production Manager when they are due.

Ensure daily timesheets for all staff are correctly completed and handed to the Production Supervisor at the end of each shift.

Assist the Production Supervisor with monitoring of any targets given to staff.

**Job Type**: Permanent

**Salary**: From £11.20 per hour
