Applications are invited to this senior clinical fellow post in urogynaecology. This post is ideal for those trainees who have been working in the speciality for several years (including post CCT holders) who now wish to gain experience in urogynaecology.
The trainee will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team undertaking care for women with urogynaecological concerns. All aspects relating to the highest standards of care will the taught.
The post holder will be member of the internationally outstanding regional subspecialty Urogynaecology department. The aim is for the fellow to learn all the different aspects of urogynaecology including investigation and treatment. The post holders would also be on the out of hours obstetrics and gynaecology rota in the senior tier. The post holder would be expected to register for a higher research degree and there will be timetabled research sessions as well as support to develop your research skills.

**Responsibilities**:
Provide High Quality Care to Patients in Obstetrics & Gynaecology
- The post holder must be medically qualified and maintain GMC specialist registration.
- To develop and maintain the competencies required to carry out the duties required of the post.
- To ensure prompt attendance at agreed direct clinical care Programmed Activities.
- To ensure patients are involved in decisions about their care and to respond to their views.

Research, Teaching and Training
- Where possible to collaborate with academic and clinical colleagues to enhance the Trust’s translational research portfolio, at all times meeting the full requirements of Research Governance.
- To provide high quality teaching to medical undergraduates and members of other health care professions as required by the Clinical Director.
- To act as educational supervisor and appraiser as delegated by the Clinical Director to ensure external accreditation of training post.

Performance Management
To work with medical, nursing and managerial colleagues to ensure high performance in the following areas:
Clinical efficiency e.g. LOS reductions, reducing cancelled operations and DNA rates.
Quality of outcomes e.g. infection control targets, reducing re-admission rates
Financial management e.g. identification, implementation and achievement of cost improvement programmes and participating in efforts to ensure services are provided cost effectively e.g. managing locum agency spend, monitoring and managing the drug budget to target, ensuring accuracy of clinical data for the team
Operational efficiency e.g. day-case rates, waiting list activity and demand management.
Teaching opportunities
The post holder will provide clinical and educational supervision for trainees in obstetrics & Gynaecology. The post holder will contribute to ongoing development and changes in the undergraduate postgraduate teaching curriculum working with the site based College Tutors and Head of Undergraduate Teaching.
Administrative duties Add in specific requirements for the post
The post holder will be expected to provide good attention to detail and governance for their clinical work in the department via accurate and timely turnaround of documentation to support their clinical decisions and actions.
Outline of timetable
A typical weekly timetable will be as follows with an out of hours commitment to general obstetrics & gynaecology which is 1B compliant (usually a 1:9 rota with a split week on call) there is flexibility for this.
