A fantastic opportunity to join a growing brand as an integral part of our Accounts Team at our HQ based in Chester, reporting directly to the Financial Controller. As Hickory's Smokehouse begins a period of rapid growth, our Accounts Team are expanding, and are now seeking an enthusiastic, experienced Finance Assistant to join on a permanent full-time basis, based at our Steam Mill office.

You will be joining an established and supportive finance team, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the Accounts Payable function. This role may suit someone at the beginning of their career in accountancy, although previous experience in a similar position would be beneficial. Equally, the role will offer pace and variety for someone with a strong background in finance, as well as opportunity to progress

**Finance Assistant duties will include**:

- Controlling the Group’s Accounts Payable function to ensure that all invoices are recorded accurately and on a timely basis.
- Processing payments in line with the Group’s payment policies.
- Identifying and resolving issues that can improve invoices to be paid on time.
- Maintain Supplier master data.
- Reconciliation of monthly supplier statements.
- You will work closely with other members of the finance team to support growth within the team.
- Support the Management Accountant with any ad-hoc duties.

**What You'll Need to Succeed as a Finance Assistant**:

- You have a desire to grow within a finance role whilst having exposure to various aspects of the business.
- Highly motivated with a great work ethic.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Strong attention to detail & excellent communication skills.
- Strong communication skills and confidence in dealing with management.
- The attitude and ability to meet challenging deadlines.
- Ability to prioritise workload effectively.
