Job Title: Engine Strip and Clean Operative
Location: Barton Under Needwood
Duration: Permanent
Shifts: Mon to Thurs 7.am
- 5pm, Friday 7am -1pm
Rate: £12.50-£14.05 per hour( DOE)
Our client based in Barton Under Needwood require two Engine Strip and Clean Operatives.
**Mechanical experience is essential for the role.**
Position Summary:
Key Accountabilities/ responsibilities:
- Be able to strip all the mechanical components to engine as per instruction.
- Collect new parts and distribute to the right engines/machinery.
- Jet wash engines after final checks before they leave site.
- Wash/ clean vehicles such as rafts, engines, rafts frames and transmissions using pressured washer equipment
- Inspect for signs of damage/wear
- Prepare vehicles for delivery
- Must be able to pack and wrap products
- Must be able to assist in site maintenance as needed i.e. litter picking, compact and bale waste
- Operate forklift or other hand truck and heavy plant machinery.
- You must maintain and operate heavy equipment and machinery, from forklifts, cranes, battery Electric vehicle, etc
- You should be able to load and unload materials and equipment across the site. This will involve manual handling of materials.
- Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.
- Work to and support all relevant 5S activities
- Report any near misses
- Ensure that waste is disposed of in the correct manner
- Report any faults/ issues with jobs to the line manager
- Take on any other reasonable responsibilities or tasks that are within the employee's skills and abilities
- Adhere at all times to the company's Health, Safety & Environmental instructions and requirements
Qualifications/Education required:
- Previous experience in rail or automotive industry
- Proven experience in using counterbalance, reach, pivot forklift trucks, slinging equipment, cab and pendant controlled overhead cranes
- Have a recognised forklift and crane driving qualification
