Domiciliary Care Worker, Full or Part Time, Up to £17ph + Mileage.

We are currently looking to recruit part time Health Care Assistants on behalf of a major provider of elderly support services in South Wales.

You will be expected to support people to live in their own homes as independently as possible. Supporting them with everyday living aspects such as:

- Looking after themselves and their home
- Looking after their health, including medication management where necessary
- Keeping themselves safe within their home

You may support vulnerable individuals who have learning disabilities, physical disabilities or mental health as well as being elderly. You will be expected to work in a way that helps promote the individual's independence and empower them to be as independentas possible. You will follow a specific care plan for each individual which will demonstrate the needs of the individual and how they want to live their lives.

**JOB description**:
To provide support to individuals in their own homes with a range of needs. This post is to work alongside a team of experienced carers, providing care to people in the community with different personal care related needs.

We aim to:

- Increase people's opportunities for independent living within the community
- Work in partnership with other care agencies
- Promote equality and diversity
- Help to improve the quality of life for individuals and assist people to utilize/maximise their own skills and development

An agency care worker is expected to:

- Be punctual and presentable at all times
- Maintain the utmost confidentiality about individuals
- Keep a log of all tasks completed as per the companies policy
- Report any accident or incident occurring during a period of support immediately
- Adhering to all policies, procedures and practices put in place by the support service and associated bodies

As an agency, we cater to the needs of our clients, and whilst we endeavour to source you work close to home, it may be necessary for you to travel outside of your immediate area to secure the volume of shifts you require.

Duties whilst on shift:

- To assist with the general support as required. Such support may include food preparation, personal dressing, personal hygiene, medication management
- To offer support in a sensitive manner, taking account of the abilities and health and emotional needs of the individuals
- To maintain written records as necessary
- To assist people in a manner that promotes their independence and acquisition of skills
- To participate in appropriate training
- To administer and supervise medication as appropriate
