Core services include repair, maintenance, construction and installation of utility and infrastructure assets. **Our Role**
As our Head of Bid, you will be responsible for the management of our bid production team. In this position, you will develop bid winning strategies, guiding your team through the production process ensuring an exceptional win rate. This is a hands-on role, where you will lead by example.
The role will be responsible for leading Network Plus’ tenders for new works across all sectors. You will be the main point of contact for the client’s procurement team throughout the bid, clarification and negotiation process, ensuring continuity and aligned understanding.
You will be joining a dynamic team that has achieved an average win rate (by value) of more than 70% over the last four years. This is a key hire for the business; vital to ensuring we achieve our future ambitions of expansion within existing markets and entering exciting new markets.
The role will have flexibility between home and office-based working.
**Key Competencies**
**Bid Management** - Co-ordination and management of all phases of the tender process, from PQQ through to post-tender site visits, presentations and negotiations.
**Bid Writing** - Production of concise, high quality written responses; maximising technical / quality scores.
**Commercial** - Understanding of the economics of the client, delivery partners and our business. Understanding of regulatory and contract-specific performance metrics and how they influence commercial performance.
**People Management** - Effective delegation of responsibility throughout the tender process. Performance measurement and feedback to ensure quality and enhanced individual performance.
**Communication** - The ability to communicate with all levels and to provide appropriate information to all staff.
**Influencing skills** - The ability to make persuasive presentation of ideas of facts and to convince others to gain agreement or acceptance of proposals.

**Leadership** - The ability to assemble and motivate multi-disciplinary teams from across different departments.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Bids and Work Winning Responsibilities**
We are looking for someone to:
- Lead the bid team through each stage of the procurement process
- Prepare initial tender overviews; summarising the client, contract, bid strategy and win themes
- Produce and subsequently maintain bid management plans, ensuring high scoring components are prioritised
- Provide guidance and support to bid writers and other bid contributors, ensuring awareness of key themes and client drivers
- Work with internal commercial and operational leads to obtain technical input, case studies, innovations, examples and best practice for incorporation into written responses
- Draft large components of quality submissions for key opportunities in the sector
- Liaise with the estimating team to ensure that all client requirements and proposed solutions are incorporated into contract pricing
- Review client KPIs and associated incentive mechanisms to ensure that any risk / reward is fully considered as part of the pricing process
- Organise and participate in the tender quality review process; ensuring that key feedback and recommendations are incorporated into the final response
- Manage communications with the client’s procurement team, during the tender process
- Prepare Approval Papers for sign off in line with internal Delegation of Authority (DoA)
**Post Tender Responsibilities**
We are looking for someone to:
- Understand site visit requirements, establishing ‘preparation’ and ‘visit day’ plans, briefing key internal contributors and co-ordinating both preparations and ‘visit day’ activities
- Prepare post-tender presentations, co-ordinating attendance, preparing key speaker notes
- Produce and lead post-tender handovers to operations and commercial for successful bids
