We are working with a national builders merchants to help them find a Product Compliance Specialist

The purpose of the Product Quality Specialist role is to ensure that when listing, products for customer to buy via our websites, we ensure that we can be confident that the listings satisfy our principles of conduct and action. For example, we must be surethat products meet any relevant safety and performance standards. We also need to consider the impact of sourcing these products and their supply chain. Particular consideration needs to be given to modern slavery, environmental and cultural impacts. Due tothe broad range of products we have ambition to list, and the short time period in which we need to list them, an understanding of risk and a clear research methodology will be required to ensure the appropriate level of oversight has been given to productsand their suppliers. The Product Quality Specialist is therefore a critical gatekeeper in ranging products online. The role is to keep customers, supply chain and our colleagues safe and to ensure our principles are not compromised.

**Experience required**:

- Experienced in researching product, or service, related requirements and standards, Ideally, this should include covering the introduction of products for inclusion on transactional websites.
- Understanding and adhering to guidance from external agencies (e.g. trading standards, ISO, etc.)
- Ability to grasp the technical requirements of products and to be able to target relevant legislative and moral questions that might relate to their use or manufacture.

**Key result areas**:
The successful mass introduction of new products to brand transactional websites, without compromising the position of the organisation and exposing our customers, or our business, to risk caused by listing of products that are not compatible with the lawor our corporate social responsibility. This should be achieved through:

- Thorough and complete research of products to be listed
- Clear documentation and research showing due diligence
- Development of a register of legislation relevant to the products being listed
- Development of close working relationships with suppliers and internal teams to ensure our risks continue to be well managed
- Development of established research lines and external agencies and resources through which our responsibilities can be understood and adhered to
