As a Barclays Automation Engineer you will work within a dedicated team of engineers to help build out, maintain and expand a new Digital framework to service our Corporate clients across web, mobile, tablet and other devices. You will be working on ourhighest priority piece of work as Barclays looks to overhaul its Corporate channels to align with our technology strategy related to micro-services, API's and automation in order to improve velocity and stability of our core platforms.

**What will you be doing?**:

- Your core responsibility is to execute to the functional testing plan as defined by the Test Lead/Lead Test Engineer with mínimal supervision
- You will understand and manage the Functional aspect of the project, conducting review of functionality being tested and confirming test coverage
- Working closely with the test automation lead to deliver robust test harnesses to meet complex testing needs of various projects
- You will be responsible for creating and maintaining automated GUI and backend test cases
- Executing the automated packs and providing consolidated feedback to the lead on a regular basis
**What we're looking for**:

- Demonstrable experience in Functional Testing with Automation in Java/Selenium, including good knowledge in API testing and Automation
- Extensive knowledge of Testing lifecycle, core testing process/techniques using different test approaches and understanding of Defect management processes
- Good Knowledge in Java, Selenium, good SQL and ETL Skills
- Extensive domain knowledge Banking and Payments. Understanding to Swift MT messages and ISO 20022 formats like Pain, Pacs and Camt messages
**Skills that will help you in the role**:

- Knowledge in Mobile Automation using Appium
- Understanding of CI / CD and DevOps methodologies
- Exposure to Service Virtualisation using tools like GHT, CA Lisa and custom Java framework
**Where will you be working?**
In the centre of Spinningfields, Hardman Street is right in the centre of the best of Manchester's professional business network. A multi divisional space with Corporate, Wealth, Premier and Digital colleagues, the offices include a client suite for meetingsfor up to 100 people, but are equally intimate for smaller meetings. Set in the heart of the cities gyms, bars, restaurants and shopping, Barclays offices are a real benefit to its 300 staff and an attractive venue for clients.

We purchased the building from the landlord in early 2018 as a sign of our commitment to investment in Northampton.
