TheRole: The Insurance Solutions Team was formed in 2019 in order to maximise M&G's competitive advantage as both asset owner (Insurer) and asset manager. Within M&G it bridges Distribution, Investment Management and Provision of Insurance. The team has a broadremit to grow global insurance AUM through designing and delivering products / solutions for Insurers and Defined Benefit pension schemes. This includes: Coordinating strategy, building and advising on suitable product, ensuring best in class client serviceand developing new and existing business Asset management sales to third-party insurers, with a particular focus on holistic mandates comprising public and/or private debt, targeting specific insurance metrics such as Return on Capital, Cash-flow Matchingetc. Negotiating strategic partnerships with third-party insurers comprising primarily investment management services, but with elements of insurance expertise (modelling of private assets for capital / risk purposes; actuarial assumption setting, strategicasset allocation work, etc) Developing, marketing and implementing de-risking / covenant enhancement solutions involving insurance risk transfer for Defined Benefit pension schemes Due to ongoing success, and a strong opportunity set, the team is looking toadd headcount in a number of areas. This particular role is focused on growing M&G's AUM from third-party insurers, however, commensurate with their experience / skill set, the successful candidate can expect to be involved in diverse projects across the threebroad areas outlined above. The role requires working closely with regional sales teams, and will have a specific focus on increasing revenues, brand awareness and introducing solutions to Northern European insurers (Scandinavia, Netherlands, Germany and Austria).This will involve helping set internal distribution strategy, delivering material and processes to support this strategy, and partnering with country heads and local institutional sales team to position strategy for insurance clients in their markets. M&Galready has relationships with a wide range of insurance clients and prospects in these markets. The aim is to deliver sales through tailored solutions based on client needs. The successful candidate will have strong sales skills and will act as a subjectmatter expert at all stages of the sales cycle with insurance clients and prospects. Key Responsibilities for this role: Develop and implement business development strategy for Insurance clients in Northern Europe in conjunction with regional sales teams ineach country Develop an in depth understanding of all asset classes across M&G Work with regional sales to develop and share intelligence on clients - how they are structured, key people, researchers, investment appetite Develop relationships with existingclients and prospects, identify and design solutions, and close on opportunities. Develop tailored propositions based on insurer segment, size, regulatory and accounting constraints and risk appetite Lead and collaborate with a wide range of internal stakeholdersacross investment, distribution and other functions to deliver on bespoke solutions Agree what products to focus on for each prospect and obtain meetings with researches/in-house investment teams Drive marketing and content which is of specific relevance toinsurance clients in Northern Europe Contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of the Northern European marketing and communications strategy including assistance with the organising and attending at events Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:Actuarial/Mathematics/Finance related educational background preferred Significant years' experience working in the Investment/Insurance industry A track record of selling and / or delivering solutions to institutional clients Strong knowledge of SolvencyII with respect to liability discounting, asset-level capital requirements etc. Understanding of asset classes that fit the needs of European Insurers Client-oriented with strong service mindset and ability to understand & capture client needs Self-motivatedand ability to work on own initiative/prioritise workload to strict deadlines German language skills desirable Existing relationships with Northern European Insurers desirable Understanding of annuity writing / pricing beneficial Work Level: Manager or ExpertRecruiter Name: Phoebe Ewers Closing Date: 5th September 2021
