**Job Title**: Local Authority Auditor **Location**: Working from home **Employer**:Pertemps Recruitment Partnership for Harrow Council **Contract Type**: Temporary Assignment **Hours of Work**: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday Overview of an Local Authority Auditor Pertemps have an exciting opportunity within Harrow Council for a self-driven and motivated Local Authority Auditor to join an expanding team. **The Main Purpose of an Local Authority Auditor**: - To undertake internal audit reviews over the full range of the Council's services and provide professional advice on control, risk and governance issues. - Assist in formulating the annual operational audit plan by identifying areas for review based on accumulated audit knowledge and risks identified by client departments. - Contribute to the achievement of the annual operational plan by undertaking risk-based systems reviews across the full range of Council services in accordance with the Public Sector Internal Audit Standards (PSIAS) and Harrow's Internal Audit section'sperformance standards and quality requirements. - Contribute to the production of the year-end and mid-year reports to the Audit Committee. - Undertake the daily planning, monitoring and control of all audit reviews allocated to you ensuring that the agreed objective and scope are met. - Liaise with client departments, communicating with all levels of staff including senior managers as well as External Auditors and occasionally Members. - Formulate and implement risk - based audit programmes. To undertake research to enable the formulation of audit programmes for reviews in new areas and to implement these. - Must have experience of high-level auditing e.g., strategies, policies, corporate plans, cross departmental reviews, corporate reviews - Must have Systems based/risk-based auditing - Must have experience of a providing professional advice to clients on control, risk, governance issues and the investigation of suspected financial irregularities - Must have Computer literacy including Word and Excel - Part qualification with a relevant professional body e.g., IIA, CIPFA, CCAB Desirable If you have the necessary skills and experience for this role please click 'apply'. **About us** " For almost 60 years, Pertemps Recruitment Partnership has been the market leader in providing permanent and temporary staffing solutions and we are one of the most established players within the recruitment industry.
