Then we ask that you engage in the below: Gretna Green are looking to recruit a **Painter & Decorator** who will assist the Maintenance and Property Manager in maintaining the properties and grounds of Gretna Green Ltd to a high standard in a prompt and timely manner. **Main Duties will include**: - Preparing and cleaning surfaces - Removing old wallpaper and paint - Repairing cracks and holes in walls - Mixing and thinning paint - Reading specifications to determine required materials - A sound knowledge of Health and safety legislation including manual handling, working at heights, and adopting safe working practices to protect yourself, colleagues and customers - Ensuring the safe and appropriate use of any chemicals including pesticides and herbicides and in accordance with regulations such as COSHH and maintaining up to date records as required - Preparation work before painting and decoration can take place, both internal and external - Identify quantities required to complete each task - Carry out tasks within agreed time limits - Maintain accurate records/documentation associated with your work **Key Requirements**: - To have achieved the qualifications and have completed an appropriate apprenticeship e.g. minimum NVQ Level 2 in painting and decoration - Experience in this type of job role - Requisite knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to the trade - To demonstrate knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations for this role - Skills in the preparation of all types of surfaces and painting and decoration using a variety of papers and paints to achieve various specialist finishes - To be friendly and approachable - To understand and deliver good customer service - Attention to detail Hours will be a minimum of 40 per week, including weekends Salary will be based on experience and skillset
