**Tax Assistant**

**Salary**:up to £23,000 depending on experience

**Location**:Hull City Centre

Permanent, Full-Time

**Proposed start date**:August

**The role**:

- Assist with HMRC enquiries
- Ensure all compliance checks are completed in a timely and accurate manner
- Responsible for workload assigned to you by senior members of the team
- Prepare your clients tax returns including, income tax, capital gains tax, rental and self-employed accounts
- Assist with the manage of a portfolio of clients and assist with any enquiries they have and management of their tax affairs
- Update and manage workflow in a timely and accurate manner
- Ensure client and firm deadlines and processes are adhered to
- Agree timelines and budgets with client and senior members of staff and act pro-actively to ensure they are reached

**To be successful in this role, you will**:

- Hold relevant qualifications to A-Level or, preferably, degree level
- Prior experience in a tax department is preferred but not essential
- Have a desire to build a career within tax
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Have a willingness to learn more by way of further education or by shadowing senior colleagues

**In return you will be entitled to**:

- An annual salary of up to £23,000 depending on experience
- 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays plus 1 additional day at Christmas
- Paid overtime or TOIL (time off in lieu)
- Death in service
- Free on-site parking
- Option for study support/leave for further qualifications
