Working in our Income Team, you will provide high quality housing management services to our customers. Our customers are at the heart of everything we do and so you will be on the front line ensuring our high standards continue. This opportunity for is permanent, on a full-time basis based at our Billericay office. You will provide high quality advice and be able to demonstrate a high level of competence in debt and arrears recovery casework. You will need to have knowledge of Welfare Reform and issues facing residents and also have a driving license and vehicle.

Main responsibilities:

- Work with tenants from sign up to prevent debt from occurring.
- Negotiate realistic repayment agreements taking into account financial circumstance.
- Give advice on rent payment options.
- Understand and make referrals to the welfare benefits team.
- Liaise effectively with local authority housing benefit and homelessness services.
- Attend the County Court to present cases where possession is required to minimise income loss
- Arrange welfare benefit advice and debt counselling services for tenants who need it.
- Work with tenants to help them become more financially and digitally included
- Manage a complex caseload and instigate legal action as necessary for the recovery of debt
- Be an advocate for residents to ensure they can access all key services both internally and externally.
- Sign up new tenants explaining Swan’s policies and services, tenant’s legal and welfare rights and tenancy obligations.
- Work effectively with external partners.
- Good understanding of the welfare reform changes and the impact.
