To be responsible for overseeing the administration of the Company's Monthly and Lunar payrolls; providing support to the Payroll Administrators, Deputy Head of Payroll and Pensions Manager and the Head of Payroll; supervising 2 members of the payroll team.

My client is a leading office space constructor based in Canary Wharf. They are the largest sustainable developer in the UK and developed the largest urban regeneration project in Europe.

**Description**

- Supervising the Payroll Administrators on the Monthly and Lunar Payrolls.
This includes:

- new employees are fully onboarded, paid correctly and are on the correct tax code as per their completed starter checklist or P45 from previous employment
- leavers have the correct leave dates and have been paid the correct basic and holiday pay where applicable
- employee loans are deducted correctly
- all backdated salaries or any adjustment to salaries are correct.
- that maternity payments are accurate and are paid in accordance with the maternity schedule
- court orders, CSA and other Attachment of Earnings orders are inputted correctly
- sickness calculation including SSP are correct.
- Giving support and advice to employees and colleagues on complex Payroll queries, ensuring they are dealt with in a timely manner
- Checking Monthly & Lunar Payroll reports to accounts ensuring they are completed on time and accurately.
- Checking HMRC payments and ensuring they are signed off and paid on time.
- Administer Childcare Voucher Scheme making sure all changes for the month are processed in the payroll and vouchers are paid on time.
- Completing the Monthly and Lunar ONS surveys online ensuring these are done within the given deadlines.
- Helping to maintain the Payroll and Pensions Team SharePoint page by keeping it up to date with any changes or necessary improvements.
- Checking CHAPS payments ensuring bank details, amounts and payee details are accurate before they are sent for approval.
- Maintaining the Payroll Procedures ensuring they are up to date so that duties can be carried out accordingly.
- Checking maternity schedules and providing feedback or corrections.
- Checking the Monthly and Lunar sign-off reports before they are given to directors for approval
- Liaison with outside agencies, e.g. HMRC, Jobcentre Plus, CSA, Bank, etc., including completion of any enquiry forms and answering queries.
- Reconciling payments of PAYE and National Insurance Contributions.
- Liaison with Accounts Department and handling queries.
- Assistance with tax year end procedures.
- Assisting with Class 1A payments ensuring they are done on time and Accounts are provided with the necessary payment breakdown and costing allocations.
- Ad-hoc duties, as deemed necessary by the Deputy Head of Payroll and Pensions Manager and the Head of Payroll.
- Administering gym memberships.
- Providing salary information to managers and directors for budgeting purposes.
- Assisting with the provision for reports to managers and directors in relations to costing allocation queries.
**Profile**
- Experience using Workday (essential)
- Experience as a supervisor of payroll administrators (essential)
- Minimum of 2 years' payroll experience is essential, preferably with experience of different pay cycles.
- Knowledge of current payroll legislation, including auto enrolment, SSP, SMP, SShPP and SPP rules is essential.
- Strong inter-personal skills combined with a requirement to ensure confidentiality when appropriate.
- Must be a team player with a willingness to help others, as well as being able to work on own initiative.
- Flexible, organised, and calm approach is essential.
- Must have a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines, under pressure is crucial, as is a keen attention to detail.
- Must understand the need to be available at crucial payroll times and arrange holidays accordingly.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is essential.

**Job Offer**
- £45,000-£49,000 FTE.
