Position Summary

We have a great opportunity to join our Warehousing Team at Great Western Road as a Team Leader on our early shift. Reporting to the GWR Warehousing Manger, the Dry Goods Warehouse Team Leader manages a team of FLT Drivers, and Material handlers/administrators. This role is responsible for managing the intake of Dry Goods to GWR and ensuring supply of materials to production lines, as well as managing inventory within warehousing to meet business requirements (i.e. stock builds, aged stock, inventory cycle counting, external storage).

The role of Team Leader is responsible for efficient and effective running of our Warehousing operation, servicing our customers with high quality product delivered effectively. The role is accountable for the leadership of a core team of FLT drivers and material handlers/administrators to drive ownership of the Warehouse, it’s inventory and facilitate successful completion of production plans. This role will require strong people management skill and deliver the operational excellence agenda for Warehousing. This role also requires strong stakeholder engagement between production, planning, procurement, and material quality.
Job Description
- Manage daily Tier 1 meetings
- Drive team ownership, engagement and involvement in Tier 1 meetings
- Participate in Tier 2 meetings and activities
- Compile and track departmental KPIsa
- Escalate all relevant action to Tier 2 meetings
- Communicate with team on all business, GSC, site or department updates as required
- Collaborate between goods inwards and procurement to complete weekly delivery plan
- Ensure quality and compliance (inventory control) are maintained through robust warehouse processes.
- Attend and facilitate Continuous improvement meetings identified from Tier 1 meetings or larger CI projects as required
- Attend absence management meetings with HR and Occupational Health to manage and support employee attendance
- H&S / Food Standard / Quality / Environment
- Support and participate in annual stock check
- Planning and organising of daily workload for self and team
