**Fire Safety Advisor - Canterbury, Ashford or Margate - NHS**
**We are excited to be adding to our Safety Department here at 2gether Support Solutions as we seek 2 x Fire Safety Advisor to be based at either our Canterbury, Margate or Ashford sites.**
**Salary**: up to £45,000 per annum (pro rata)
**2gether Support Solutions** provides facilities, property, procurement and professional services to the East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust. We are a wholly owned subsidiary of the Trust, which is one of the largest in the UK.
**The Fire Safety Advisor** will support senior leaders and managers, within 2gether, through the delivery of the Safety Strategy in accordance with the business strategy and priorities. The role will be a strong ambassador for the Safety team whilst having a significant impact on the business.
This opportunity will support and promote the development of a positive Fire safety culture both within 2gether Support Solutions and the East Kent Hospitals University Foundation Trust. You will do this by supporting the development and implementation of the fire safety systems and policies, providing relevant training, performing audits, inspections and undertaking risk assessments.
As a member of the Safety team, you will participate in the delivery and development of the organisation’s Fire Safety Plan as well as participating in:
- The development, achievement and evaluation of the Safety Strategy along with associated plans and objectives.
- Providing a framework and support for the Leadership team in the development, achievement and evaluation of their fire related strategies and objectives.
You will work with designated departments to support the development of their own departmental and workforce fire plans. Recommend strategies including capital investment and revenue requirements to prioritise risks and ensure compliance. Be an active and effective member of the Safety Team, ensuring the high visibility, focus and delivery of the wider Safety Strategy.
You will also design, specify and deliver training courses in Fire Safety to staff in the performance of specific roles (e.g. on induction, Fire Wardens and other roles up to Senior Management). Resource and recommend the most appropriate and cost-effective delivery method.
It is a requirement to review and analyse fire and unwanted fire signal statistics, conduct investigations and suggest risk management options. Attend regular site based Safety Committee Meetings to address concerns raised and provide advice and guidance as appropriate.
This is a role for a fire safety practitioner to drive change in a fast paced and highly commercial environment. Drawing on your depth of knowledge across all aspects of fire safety, you will be in a position to make a difference.
**You will have**:
- Thorough understanding of all fire safety legislation and guidance.
- Understanding of relevant Building Regulations British / ISO Standards and the HTM Firecode guidance suite
- Effective people leadership and management skills, with the ability to engage and motivate people at all levels.
- Fire safety management or enforcement experience in a large complex organisation.
- Experience of undertaking fire risk assessments and audits.
- With regards to qualifications you should hold a Level 4 Certificate in Fire Safety or equivalent Fire Safety qualification. Having a NEBOSH General (or Fire) Certificate would also be advantageous.
