A great opportunity has arisen to join an iconic British furniture brand with big plans We are looking for General Assistants to join our G Plan Operations function in Melksham on our expanding afternoon shift, working 2.00pm to 10.30pm Monday to Thursday and 1.00pm to 6.00pm Friday.

As part of our Production team, you will work alongside your operational, development and distribution colleagues in our purpose-built manufacturing facility and head office. The heart of the organisation, this is where we proudly hand-make every single G Plan sofa and chair. A G Plan sofa is an investment piece and our consumers know they are buying a sofa designed with the values of enduring comfort and quality at its core.

Within this fast-paced role, you will be responsible for carrying out a range of duties to help the factory run smoothly. This could include servicing our upholstery/woodmill departments to ensure we meet the requirements of our production plans, helping to pack and load our products, filling our production cages with components ready for the next day's production or undertaking housekeeping to ensure a tidy and safe place to work.

Applicants will need to be flexible and willing to undertake a variety of tasks. These are physical roles that involve a lot of walking and some manual handling. Previous experience within a manufacturing environment would be beneficial, although full training will be given.

We offer an hourly pay rate of £10.21 per hour plus £1.09 per hour shift allowance plus a benefits package including; 24 days annual leave (to be taken in company shutdowns) plus public holidays, pension scheme, life assurance, company sick pay, staff purchase scheme, cycle to work scheme, employee assistance programme and the opportunity to progress into other roles within the business.
