Fabricator/operator

**Background**

We are looking for a practical and self-motivated person to join our small manufacturing business and help achieve our growth plans. Our core business is plastic extrusion and we recently started selling new products that we have made from our extrusions. These products are selling well, and we now need a full-time fabricator/operator to manufacture and package these products before they are shipped to our customers. Previous experience using power tools such as mitre saws and routers is preferable.

This is a full-time role, and we can accommodate a variety of shift patterns to suit the successful applicant.

**Responsibilities**:

- You must be aware of and compliant with standard safety controls in a factory environment
- An eye for good quality is vital with a need to inspect your own work
- You must be competent and confident with this type of work as you will be the only staff member in this area in the short term
- The role will be supported closely by the Production Manager
- The work includes measuring, cutting, shaping, drilling, gluing and screwing materials to make the products
- Tools involved include mitre saws, table saws, routers, pillar drills and hand drills
- Most products are built in a jig, but some require the ability to read a drawing
- Products are to be made to target cycle times to ensure customer lead times are maintained.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £13.00-£14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
