Cloud Architect

Our Cloud Architects, work across our digital technology and in collaboration with other teams to deliver cloud-based solutions for our clients across medium to large scale, complex business systems - both during pre-sales and client delivery. You are requiredto demonstrate an understanding in a wide variety of technology areas including Architecture design and development of the overall AWS Cloud hosting, data management and analytics, and systems integration.

**What you will be doing**:

- Participating in evaluation and decisioning relating to use of Cloud services (PaaS/serverless) relative to IaaS hosted alternatives
- Sizing of solution elements to meet non-functional requirements (availability, throughput, capacity etc.)
- Architecture and design of the overall AWS Cloud hosting, including the integration with supplier (sub-contractor) solution elements (including SaaS/PaaS) and client hosted solution elements
- Defining the high-level Cloud Security architecture and design to meet the Security requirements of the solution working with the programme Security Architect
- Support for networking/subnet design liaising with the Network Architect to ensure the solution can meet environment provisioning on-demand
- Liaison with the Programme Principal Architect
- Liaison with Cloud Engineers and DevOps team members

**What you'll bring**:

- Demonstrable experience of structured data platforms (especially relational/SQL databases) and also an appreciation of unstructured/document data management (eg SharePoint)
- Environment design to meet development/build, QA (SIT, UAT), performance & stress testing, Operational Acceptance Testing, Pre-Production, and Production - reflecting programme/project plans
- Cloud Integration design
- High level design of data services for OLTP, Data Staging and Transformation, and Data Marts in support of Business Intelligence, MI, and analytics
- Participation in design of Cloud solution to support data management including data lifecycle management, archiving & retrieval, back-ups, and GDPR considerations.
- Participation in design for business continuity and disaster recovery with a specific focus on the Cloud-hosted solution elements in the context of the wider service

**It would be great if you had**:

- Cloud architecture activity alignment with:

- Project inputs (Solution Architecture; NFRs; Development Plan; Test Strategy; Environments Strategy; DevOps CI/CD approach)
- Programme standards and policies
- Industry standards
- Cloud provider standards (including alignment to standards where Sopra Steria has Partner status related to those standards)
- Preparation of High-Level Designs and Low-Level Designs for the Cloud solution
- Presentation of designs to stakeholders
- Support for Cloud Economics activities
- Participation in IaC (infrastructure as code) strategy and approach to support rapid environment provisioning/decommissioning
- Participation in Growth Strategy and R&D
