Hiscox UK is actively seeking a dynamic Quality Assurance Lead to head up our UK Retail QA engineering function and get involved in shaping the way we ensure quality across all of our technology platforms. We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to ensure quality is embedded into everything we do, that our requirements are effectively converted to automated tests and that we guarantee our technologies conform with business expectations. Within this role you will be - A doer of things - we need someone who will get stuff done and deliver value incrementally to the business. You will understand what agility is and keep things simple. You will understand Cloud best practices, the importance of DevOps, the "less code is more" approach and ensure we can rapidly build, deploy, iterate and monitor solutions when they go into production - You will have experience defining and implementing Quality Metrics and drive forwards a Test Strategy, Test design and Automation strategy and continually review and improve via analysis of metrics - Experienced in Quality Assurance Engineering / Software testing and have leadership and mentoring exposure to guide and grow your team over time, supporting recruitment, mentoring and code reviews for the quality engineering team Desirable: - Experience building tests into Azure DevOps pipelines - Hands-on experoeince of Tosca Automation and NeoLoad volumetric and perfromance test tools - Familiarity with Java / .Net testing frameworks - Exposure to API testing using RestSharp would be advantageous - Exposure to Docker / Familiarity of containerization would be advantageous - Experience performance and volume testing APIs using tools like Neo Load and Dynatrace (or similar) - Particular understanding of the Azure cloud Diversity, Inclusion and Hybrid working  At Hiscox we care about our people.
